A MERRY FEAST FOR THE SENSES AWAITS ALL
AT THIS YEAR’S CHRISTMAS WONDERLAND

 

Singapore, 21 November 2019 – Christmas Wonderland, Singapore’s most popular year-end event, promises a merry feast for the senses with a wide array of gastronomical adventures, fun craft workshops and one-of-a-kind shopping experiences to complement the stunning festive backdrop of lights, performances and ‘snow’ in the tropics.

The sixth edition also features exciting new highlights with plenty to amaze visitors of all ages – the debut of the Christmas Parade, a brand new interactive Santa’s Workshop, a riveting mix of theatrical productions, more light installations as well as traditional games and rides at Gardens by the Bay this 29 November to 26 December 2019.

A SMORGASBORD OF FESTIVE TREATS AT THE CHRISTMAS TREE CAFÉ  

Set in the heart of The Meadow, surrounded by 50 magnificent Christmas trees, the all-new Christmas Tree Café presents the ideal spot to enjoy a magical gastronomic evening under the stars before heading next door to the Meadow Theatre or Santa’s Workshop. For the first time, visitors can choose from dining alfresco under the stars or enjoying the cool indoors as they indulge in an affordable array of tantalising gourmet festive food and drinks from $6.

London’s Burger & Lobster will have visitors queuing for a chance to taste their Brisket Roll, Original Mini Lobster Roll and Grilled Prawn Skewers. Relish in the contemporary take on Italian cuisine by Sinfonia Ristorante offering dishes such as Chicken Wings with Tomato Blue Cheese and Roasted Beef Ribeye in Veal Jus.

Specialising in fusion cuisine, Mr White – a pop-up concept by WMartin and Taste Singapore – will showcase their versatility through their exciting line-up of dishes such as Wild Honey Hammer Wings, Smokey Sausage and Wagyu Beef Burgers. Bringing the flavours of South America to the event is TONITO Latin American Kitchen with their classic Cheese and Pork Quesadillas, Chicken and Corn Tacos as well as Cubano Sandwiches.

Those with a sweet tooth will be spoilt for choice at the all-new Dessert Wonderland – a first ever collaboration between iconic brands N2 Extreme Gelato, Happitea, Durian Edition and Tokyo Lamington. Indulge in locally-inspired sweet treats including Durian Kakigori, Bandung Lamington and Malt-coated Roasted Sweet Potato.

MOUTH-WATERING DELIGHTS AND CREATIVE CRAFTS AT THE FESTIVE MARKET

Brewerkz, Singapore’s longest-running craft brewery experience, returns to Christmas Wonderland this time with an event-exclusive bespoke craft brew. Named after the age-old tradition of kissing under the mistletoe, the Brewerkz Mistletoe Kiss White Beer features a refreshing plexus of cloves, vanilla and banana, brewed to conjure the familiarity and warmth of Christmas celebrations. Brewerkz has also created other festive drinks such as the White Christmas Mojito (Rum), The Grinch Vodka and Snowman’s Gin, perfectly paired with their Christmas Turkey Burger with Fries and Reindeer Pulled Pork Wrap with Waffle Fries.

Strike a pose and say ‘mochi’ at any of the Instagram-worthy installations by Häagen-Dazs™. The American ice-cream brand will unveil new festive ice creams and two new limited edition mochi ice cream flavours. Indulge in the Asian-inspired Azuki Mochi ice cream with smooth Hokkaido Azuki bean sauce and steamed mochi pieces, as well as the French dessert-inspired Crème Brûlée Mochi ice cream with aromatic burnt sugar sauce and steamed mochi pieces.

Visitors will be in for a treat at Christmas Wonderland’s Festive Market where they will can discover unique craft goods and indulge in the festive cuisine synonymous with the season. Savoury dishes and returning favourites include the succulent Jumbo Turkey Drumstick from The Beast, Christmas Roast by Fat Belly, Garlic Onion Rosti from The 6ixs Rosti, a Street Food Circus version of Butterscotch Beer Fish & Chips, Mac Taco’s Christmas Taco perfectly paired with Turkey and Cranberry, Shiso’s Meatless Meatball Skewers and Pita Tree’s Chicken Paella.

There’s always room for dessert! Complete your festive experience with sweet treats such as the Rainbow Candy Cane Prata and Waffles from Fooditude, Pancake Hut’s (by Sofnade) own version of a Christmas Tree Pancake Stack and kick back with a glass of wine and classic panettone by Vino Amore.  The Swag Social returns with their sinful Red Velvet and Mochi Donut Balls, be tempted by Coffee Bandits’ Snowy Peanut Butter Jelly Sandwich and who can resist the Signature Hot Chocolate and Buttermilk Waffles from French patisserie, Paul. Bubble tea lovers, rejoice! Visitors at Christmas Wonderland can soak in the gorgeous view of the illuminated fairground while sipping on Brown Sugar Deerioca and Matcha Brown Sugar Deerioca tea treats from The Alley.

Visitors can also fill Christmas stockings with unique gifts for their loved ones. Choose from all natural products like soy candles, essential oil blends and refreshing cold brew tea blends by local homegrown brands Hush Candle, The Tea Crafters and Zesty Leaf. Feast your eyes on the ornate handmade jewellery from Bacteria Secret, Amado Beloved, Bold & Craft and Althea Faye. ‘TIS THE SEASON TO BE KIND

This year, Christmas Wonderland celebrates the joy of giving during the festive season by being part of the national Giving Week movement by the National Volunteer and Philanthropy Centre (NVPC). The movement’s fifth annual edition offers a range of diverse opportunities to embrace and practice giving in all forms through carnivals, exclusive promotions and activities across the island.

Visitors to Christmas Wonderland can do good by supporting Social Enterprises within the Santa’s Workshop, with proceeds from purchases going to beneficiaries and charities.
