Ninth Edition of Christmas Wonderland Officially Launched With New Light Displays, Festive Huts, Carnival Games And More

SINGAPORE, 3 December 2022 – Christmas Wonderland, Singapore’s biggest yuletide event, was launched today at Gardens by the Bay by Guest-of-Honour Mr Tan Kiat How, Senior Minister of State, Ministry of Communications and Information & Ministry of National Development.

Organised by Blue Sky Events and set to run from 2 December 2022 to 1 January 2023, the ninth edition of Christmas Wonderland features six festive zones and brand new attractions that will delight visitors of all ages.

An annual highlight on the festive calendar, Christmas Wonderland has brought festive cheer to more than 5 million visitors since its debut in 2014.

This year’s highlights include a brand-new Whimsical Windmill kinetic light display set in a field of candy canes, as well as a host of new light displays in Merry Lane. Standing majestically at 21 metres tall, the Spalliera, illuminates the fairground while 50,000 programmable LED light bulbs at the Walk of Lights tunnel will have visitors entranced. Visitors can also take a photo with Santa, experience ‘snow’ in the tropics, have a go at eight Carnival Games, hop onto a double-storey Carousel, tantalise their tastebuds at 13 food and beverage outlets, enjoy nightly Festive Performances, and be mesmerised by the Garden Rhapsody light and sound show.

There will also be special themed nights where visitors can put on their best fancy dress or bring along their pets to Christmas Wonderland. Costume Party night will take place on 6 and 13 December while Pets’ Night will take place on 8 and 15 December. More details on the themed nights can be found in ANNEX B.

Mr Tan Kiat How, Senior Minister of State, Ministry of Communications and Information & Ministry of National Development officially launches Christmas Wonderland by lighting up the Spalliera. The 10-metre tall Whimsical Windmill set in a field of candy canes features 35,000 LED bulbs.

This year’s edition of the Walk of Lights tunnel is lit by 50,000 programmable LED lights, illuminating a myriad of colours along a 50-metre long tunnel.
